We were up early today to head back to Sydney but there was time to take one last picture of this gorgeous sunrise.

I had to get up at 5:20am to get this photo, but it was worth it! Lovely sunrise!
They get the best of both worlds here in Pottsville. A stunning sunset and sunrise.
After our walk it was time for a swim in the sea! We had a refreshing dip and watched the surfers for a while.

This is where my 70 – 300mm lens really comes in handy! I got some great pictures of some of the surfers off the coast. No idea who he is but he looks like he is having fun!
On the way back up the sun came out and Matt snapped this lovely picture of us (struggling) to get back up the hill.

Getting down the the most easterly point was the easy part. Getting back up in the thirty plus degree sun was the hard part!
The sun came out and boy was it hot walking up all those steps!
This steep path led us out to Cape Byron – as far East as we could possibly go. We couldn’t see New Zealand though!

Well there you have it. The most easterly point of mainland Australia!
Here we are at the lookout just beneath the lighthouse at the top of the hill. Great view!

What a strange face I’m pulling. No idea what’s going on there!
Occasionally we heard a loud crack, I thought it was thunder at first, but soon realised it was the sound of the waves hitting the rocks below.
