Hanging on a line

Sat 22nd October 2011

Descending and ascending with a line is part of the diving training. It ensures you are aware of the boat location, and helps to keep you (and your buddy) orientated.

After the deep dive we had to make a safety stop at 5 meters for 3 minutes to release the nitrogen from out blood (and stop us getting the bends). It’s easier said than done in choppy seas where you are being thrown back and forth in the water. The line to the surface was extremely helpful!

During the deep dive the waves were pretty choppy, so we were being thrown around a bit while ascending on the line. Never a dull moment whilst diving!
