On our travels we’ve encountered plenty of Japanese tourists. They tend to stand together in large groups and laugh alot.

The Japanese abroad are a very strange phenomenon. You never see only one or two, they always come in twenty plus groups, and usually wear the same hats for easy identification. God forbid you ever get stuck in a queue behind a group as you will be there a while!

I’d love to know the cultural reasons for travelling in such big groups. Any ideas?

Claire says...

Matt has an obsession with Japanese tourists and how they always come in many numbers. Just as long as he doesn’t scream ‘Hwwwwaaaaao’ at them, it’s all good.
