Many crabs make light work

To glance at this photograph quickly, you’d be forgiven for thinking our footprints had been left in the disheveled beach. In fact, we were walking on the burrowed sand the crabs had left behind.


Matt says...

So many crabs cleaning their little burrows in the sand create millions of little balls on the beach. You feel quite guilty walking across them.


Claire says...

Fascinating to think these crabs do all this in the space of an afternoon (especially as there had been heavy rain until midday).
