Christmas Day treat

Sun 25th December 2011

It’s our first Christmas in Australia! Yay! This morning we took a short trip to Pottsville Beach which is minutes from Min’s Grandparents place.

Well this is a different view compared to my usual Christmas. Walking along the beach on the 25th of December, it certainly didn’t feel like Christmas! Stunning beaches all along the east of Australia. Beach for as far as the eye could see!

This beach was deserted. The waves were 2 or 3 metres high too, the result of the Cyclone off the East Coast of Australia. Walking on the beach? The best Christmas pressie ever!

Midnight visitor

Fri 23rd December 2011

Whilst watching a film tonight we spotted a Green Tree Frog stuck to the patio doors. I thought it was a large Gecko at first!

It was the first time we’d seen a Green Tree Frog. They are very cute. I think he was admiring his reflection in the patio door when we disturbed him.

Green Tree Frogs are very beautiful. Their vivid green colour shines and they can be quite large!

Kangaroo feeding time

Fri 23rd December 2011

I spent ages trying to get some of the roos to eat the food I’d paid $2 for! They must get fed loads. This one was really hungry though.

Hello Joey!

Fri 23rd December 2011

Here’s one of the mummas bouncing along with a Joey inside her pouch. They were very small and delicate looking!

We noticed that this Kangaroo had a little Joey in her pouch. How cute is he / she! Well saves getting the bus about I guess.

Kangaroo time!

Fri 23rd December 2011

Today was a day of firsts, and now petting and feeding the Kangaroos! It was fun to get so close to them and a few even had little Joeys in their pouches!
