Tue 25th October 2011

You can’t really tell from these pictures, but if you zoom in close you can see every single detail on the butterfly’s body.

I think what Claire’s trying to say is I haven’t cropped the photo close enough!

In the jungle…

Okay, so we couldn’t miss out an obligatory butterfly mating shot. These two were at it for ages!

Admiring the wings

Tue 25th October 2011

We don’t think we’ve ever seen so many gorgeous butterflies in one place before. Each speices had it’s own favourite plant too, hovering around it more than the others.

Matt

I was hoping a Butterfly would land on Claire’s head for a photo, but none of them seemed interested. Her feet obviously taste better than her head does!

Chillin’ on a bamboo

Tue 25th October 2011

The butterflies seemed to like resting in the sun. All that fluttering about must make them mighty tired!

Matt

Matt says...

Some of the species rested in places with their wings open, others closed. I assume it was due to body heat but I could be wrong. I usually found it was the ones I wanted to take a photo off with their wings open would be closed!

Hanging around, drinking nectar

Tue 25th October 2011

There were so many butterflies fluttering about, it was hard to concentrate on one at a time, we kept seeing other, equally beautiful wings flying past.

I could have spent all day in the Butterfly farm. Luckily I had a spare battery for the camera as I took so many photos!
