We’re on a tuc tuc to nowhere

Sun 7th August 2011

Tuc tucs are a great way to get around Bangkok. Cheap, cheerful and zero road safety, what more could you need? Bangkok certainly isn’t a place you’d want to learn to drive!

Never accept a ride from a tuc tuc driver when you have no idea where you are going. He offered to drop us off at the hostel for 100 Baht (~£2); feeling adventurous we thought sure why not! Long story short, one and a half hours walking around Bangkok to find the hostel. Blog name suddenly looks very appropriate.

One week to go!

Sat 30th July 2011

In 7 days time we’ll be high tailing it to the airport to catch our 10.15pm flight to Bangkok. Then the adventure really begins! With the prep almost done, all that’s left to do is pack our (extremely small) rucksacks and say our goodbyes. It’s the final countdown!

Seven days to go… guess I better start buying a few things then! I’m not quite sure how to get all these things into a fifty litre bag, but where there’s a will there’s a way. I plan on reading the books in the image on the eleven hour flight… eleven hours on a plane?!

I can’t believe we’re into the final week. How do I feel? It’s hard to describe and few adjectives can suffice. This is a life-long dream – about to be realised (no exaggeration)! It also means my stomach is in knots, but occasionally flipping with excitement as if to remind me this is going to be an amazing adventure. I can’t wait to start filling this blog with pictures and say hello to the world! :)
