The long way down

Fri 2nd September 2011

The mountain road was long and very unstable. The driver liked to honk his horn to warn other traffic we were there. Such a good job as the sharp turns made my stomach flip!

It was a long way down on the route over the mountains! Some parts were very scary (for Claire), I was okay I had a camera in front of my face so you couldn’t see me crying. Lets just say we tipped the driver well as we are glad we made it to Luang Prabang in one piece.

I look very worried in this photo. I may even be frowning. Honestly, I have never felt so unsafe in a bus in my entire life. Can look back and laugh now though!

Boobie Mountains

Fri 2nd September 2011

On the long road to Luang Prabang we stopped at Boobie Mountains. Needless to say, this evoked much joking from the group.

I know my Nan will be tutting right now while reading this. we didn’t name the mountain, it’s what the locals call it (Nom). I just happen to be exploiting the scenery :)

All along the watch tower

Wed 24th August 2011

At the top of the mountain we stopped to explore an old American bunker. Again, the views were pretty awesome, as you can see from this picture!

From this position you could see the enemy from miles around. I wouldn’t want to be the ones to try and take the mountain.
