We spotted some colourful Malaysian graffiti on some buildings which really stood out during the cruise.

Here’s another reason why Melacca reminded me of Brighton, the graffiti.

I loved the contrast of the vibrant grafitti on the old, historic buildings.

Cruising down the river

Today we jumped on the Melacca River Cruise which slowly winds up the river, so you can sit back and relax while taking in the sights.

Staying in Melacca has slowed the pace down quite considerably. Everything here is relaxed and carefree.

Picturesque night river

Wed 2nd November 2011

Tonight was the first night it hasn’t rained since we’ve been in Melacca so a great opportunity to take some photos.

I love how stunning everything in Melacca is at night. They decorate the streets with shining oriental lanterns too which gives it a delightful charm.

Mon 5th September 2011

This boat was exactly like ours. There wasn’t much to see on the river apart from the occasional child playing or locals sifting for gold. And we saw a Water Buffalo too!

Breakfast on the boat

Mon 5th September 2011

It was time for our second day on the boat, crusing the Mekong River. In this photo we’d just had breakfast and I was thinking about retreating to my chair with my book!
