Quiet street circuit

Mon 26th September 2011

On Monday we were allowed onto the circuit as the workmen were dismantling the course. Check me out in front of our Grandstand!

I can’t quite believe it’s all over. Those three days (nights) went so quickly! Oh well the F1 moves on to Japan in ten days time. Now if only we could make a quick detour…

It was strange seeing the track being taken down. 14 hours earlier and the circuit was alive with F1 cars!

The long way down

Fri 2nd September 2011

The mountain road was long and very unstable. The driver liked to honk his horn to warn other traffic we were there. Such a good job as the sharp turns made my stomach flip!

It was a long way down on the route over the mountains! Some parts were very scary (for Claire), I was okay I had a camera in front of my face so you couldn’t see me crying. Lets just say we tipped the driver well as we are glad we made it to Luang Prabang in one piece.

I look very worried in this photo. I may even be frowning. Honestly, I have never felt so unsafe in a bus in my entire life. Can look back and laugh now though!

The long and winding road

Wed 24th August 2011

This morning we travelled from Hoi An to Hue along a long coastal road which took us up a mountain and down again. The view, by all accounts was breathtaking.

I was expecting to get some sleep on the bus but the minute we started climbing, you could see the spectacular coastline and scenery. I was mesmerised.

Hip-hop road

Thu 11th August 2011

Why Hip-hop road? Because start singing on the bumpy ride and you’ve got yourself a new P Diddy tune!

The bumpiest ride ever…we had to hold on tight and I thought Matt might fall out when he took this photo. The tuc tuc driver didn’t seem bothered at all, even when we got stuck in the mud!
