Okay, so Sydney has definitely impressed me. But now we’re talking. This walk was beautiful and it was heaven to smell the ocean once again.

View of Turtle Bay

Sun 2nd October 2011

The boat moored at Turtle Bay beach after we swam cross the blue lagoon. This entirely secluded beach is where turtles choose to lay their eggs every evening.

Chasing turtles

Sun 2nd October 2011

We stopped in between the two islands to swim with the turtles. We saw one swimming along happily, and dove down to snap it.

There was only one turtle at Turtle Point today when we visited so we were very lucky to snap a couple of photos. The turtle eventually swam off as it didn’t like the 20+ tourists swimming like crazy behind it trying to get a photo!

I thought when I swam next to a turtle I’d be more excited, but it just felt so normal, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

Boobie Mountains

Fri 2nd September 2011

On the long road to Luang Prabang we stopped at Boobie Mountains. Needless to say, this evoked much joking from the group.

I know my Nan will be tutting right now while reading this. we didn’t name the mountain, it’s what the locals call it (Nom). I just happen to be exploiting the scenery :)

It was time for a day long Kayak trip! Getting out of the town and into the countryside, we drove 15km to the start point. Time to get wet!

First time Kayaking and what a way to do it! Gliding past the majestic mountains was incredible. It took a while to get used to using the oar though!
