A long way up

Wed 26th October 2011

The climb to the lighthouse was 280 metres above sea level. That’s a lot of steps and a lot of pain!

One thousand two hundred meters at a constant incline through the jungle in Flip-flops is no fun! Won’t be doing that again any time soon. The view was worth the pain though!

It took us over 40 minutes to climb to the top and that was at a constant incline. In 33 degree heat too, phew!

Temple view

Sat 3rd September 2011

Today we climbed the 328 steps up to the main temple in Luang Prebang. You could see for miles from the top, all along the Mekong river.

Matt

Matt says...

So…. hot… sweating… arghh!

Claire

Claire says...

328 steps is more than you think. Especially in 36 degree heat. Worth it from the top though!
